For those who have survived the last 8 months when the Covid-19 pandemic, we are now living in the new normal. There is just so much at stake so many people have now been paranoid, anxious, and depressed. How do we adjust our family life so that there is some semblance of normalcy despite the pandemic? Here are some tips.

How Family Life Has Changed

In the past, we could easily go out and have fun bonding times as we dine in Bacolod restaurants. Or we could easily visit the homes of friends and relatives.

We lived such a harried lifestyle because there were events everywhere. There’s not a week that passes that there’s no event to go to. There were conferences and seminars to attend, weddings to witness, and birthday parties to enjoy. Moreover, there were concerts, awesome movies to watch, and of course, sale events in malls.

Most of all, we could easily travel. Promo fares allowed us to travel locally and internationally with much ease.

But now, we are advised to stay at home and only go out for necessary errands. Yet, despite that, Covid-19 is still spreading like wildfire.

Tips in Adjusting to the New Normal

So now, families are forced to homeschool their children. Since most of us stay at home most of the time, our home is now our headquarters. Everything is run from there.

Make Home Improvements

We are staying home most, if not all the time. So let’s make our living spaces more comfortable and cozy to live in.

Since we are all experiencing an economic crisis brought about by the pandemic, we don’t have to spend much in order to make home improvements. Some cleaning and decluttering will already go a long way in improving your home.

Make Your Food Supplies Last Longer

It is very dangerous to keep going out these days because we cannot see our enemy. No matter how careful we are, viruses are stealthy. That includes Covid-19.

That is the reason why doctors tell us to stay at home for unnecessary outings. Most people rely on food and grocery delivery services.

But in order to save on delivery fees, most orders are done in bulk so that we don’t have to do it everyday. To make food last long, it is imperative that our refrigerators and freezers are in tip top shape.

Have more space in your fridge by cleaning it up. There some stuff in there that need to be consumed or thrown away already.

Hope your icebox is still working but if not, check online for the best prices on refrigerators.

Maintain Neatness of Your Clothes

Even if you are just staying at home, ensure that everyone in the family has clean clothes.

This new normal has made a lot of people too lazy to move. But in order to feel good, we should wear comfortable and neat clothes every day. This is already the new normal. So there’s no use waiting for our situation to change.

This reminds me that we need to buy a washing machine. You see, the dryer part of our old washing machine already conked out. It had served us well but with the new normal and the rainy days, we need a reliable washer with dryer.

Still on the lookout for a good deal.

Enjoy Your Family Life More

There are things that we cannot do anything about, such as the pandemic. We also cannot control how our government officials are responding to the crisis.

The only thing that we can control right now is our response or reaction to the situation.

I think that the best thing to do is to strengthen our faith, pray more, and enjoy our family life more. Let’s spend more quality time with each other. Talk some more, clean the house together, enjoy family meal times, and watch TV with the children.

This new normal seems like it is here to stay. So let’s make the most out of it.
