From the name itself, we would know immediately that their specialty is shrimps–good sized, juicy, and tasty shrimps served the way you like it. And yes, a single serving weighing half a kilo is served in a basket along with corn and other spices for the taste that you like, hence the name, Shrimp Basket.
Shrimp Basket is a relatively new player in the #Bacolodeats arena. They opened at the end of 2015 at the equally new junction called The Billboard, located at the 23rd-Lacson Streets, Bacolod City. Shrimp Basket is in the middle of this new strip that’s basically occupied by Bacolod local food operators, except for the office of the building owner that makes, what else, but billboards and signage.
Shrimp Basket is a simple restaurant without air conditioning but we cannot discount the fact that they serve delicious and filling food that is reasonably priced. The have different flavors for their shrimps that will suit your taste.
Shrimp Basket Flavors
-Butter Garlic Shrimps
-Shrimp Creole
-Classic Steamed Shrimp
-Mai’s Shrimp Basket
For appetizers, they have spicy buffalo wings, deep fried calamari, cheesy nachos, and mozarella cheese sticks.
P98 Budget Meals
But if you’re going solo or on a budget, you can also satisfy your shrimp cravings through their budget meals that are affordable and yet enough for a single person’s serving (it’s more than enough for me because their garlic serving rice is big!) Yes, their shrimp basket flavors are also available in budget meals that come with rice and a mason jar full of iced tea. Other budget meal variants are the squid sisig (which is a big hit for hubby and me), buffalo wings, and crispy sisig bagnet. And yes, all these meals are at P98 only per order with garlic rice and iced tea. Surely, you will be busog!

Pinoy Favorites
But there’s more that just shrimps at Shrimp Basket. They also serve other Pinoy seafood favorites like baked scallops, baked oysters, crabs, grilled oysters, squid sisig, grilled bangus, and even shrimp sisig. You might also want to try their bagnet and grilled liempo. Prices are very reasonable.Sigrid Says: Hubby and I tried their Mai’s Shrimp in a Basket that’s spicy and comes with sliced corn on the cob. And also their buffalo wings and squid sisig. We loved them all. Hubby is a shrimp eater and he found the taste very delectable. The spiciness is also enough for me. The squid sisig is soooo flavorful and tender, too. The squid sisig meal is greatly satisfying. Their buffalo wings is good, too, though we did not really pay much attention to it because we went there for the seafood. Hubby and I will go back there for their baked oysters and shrimp sisig.
It is nice to eat their with your hands, though they will provide you with utensils as well as plastic gloves if you don’t want your hands smelling like stale seafood afterwards. But if you want to enjoy their food, use your fingers. Don’t worry, they have a lavatory with undiluted liquid soap and paper towels.
