It’s always good news when a company channels plastic wastes into a recycling program. Herbalife Nutrition Philippines has partnered with Green Antz Builders, Inc. for its waste diversion initiative. Dubbed the Herbalife Nutrition Go Green Recycling Program, it is in line with the premier global nutrition company’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Herbalife Nutrition Go Green Recycling Program
This waste diversion initiative involves the recycling and reuse of materials that would otherwise just be thrown away in dumpsites and landfills. Herbalife Nutrition employees and members are encouraged to drop off empty Herbalife Nutrition product canisters and bottles at designated Go Green bins. One such special bin is the one in the Herbalife Nutrition head office in Bonifacio Global City.
“We are taking a proactive stance in promoting environmental sustainability through proper waste diversion in the Go Green Recycling Program,” said Sridhar Rajagopalan, Senior Director, Sub-Region General Manager of Herbalife Nutrition Philippines. During the virtual launch of the program, Rajagopalan adds, “We are trying to ensure the active participation of our employees and members to support this green effort. The primary purpose of the recycling program is to promote better waste diversion and create awareness of the need to conserve and protect the environment.”
Working with Green Antz Builders, Inc.
Rajagopalan shared that Herbalife Nutrition has chosen to partner with Green Antz because of the company’s track record in manufacturing green building materials.
“Herbalife Nutrition has found a very reliable partner in Green Antz for its waste diversion initiative, turning empty plastic Herbalife canisters and bottles into green building materials. We can learn from each other’s practices and improve our efficiencies,” he said.
Green Antz provides companies with building and housing solutions that integrate eco-friendly practices and green technologies in its products and services. It builds modular sidewalks, grasscretes, greenites, eco-boards, bollards, lot markers, handwash stations, benches, trash bins, and modular eco homes, among others. All of these are made out of recycled materials.
It has partnered with multinational corporations, leading Philippine companies, and local government units for many of its projects. In 2019, Green Antz was declared the winner in the Construction Innovation category of the Asia Pacific Housing Forum held in Bangkok, Thailand.
“We appreciate Herbalife Nutrition’s commitment to pursue sustainability because this is something that is also part of the Green Antz DNA. With this milestone, what we are creating is a platform for collaboration. This is a platform where Herbalife Nutrition employees, customers, and other stakeholders can participate and do their share of protecting the environment,” said Rommel Benig, President and CEO of Green Antz Builders, Inc.
Apart from the Herbalife Nutrition Go Green Recycling Program, Herbalife Nutrition has started other local initiatives in the country as part of its environmental sustainability commitment.
