Food-to-Go by Seda Capitol Central
Due to the pandemic, our dining options have been limited. And even if Bacolod restaurants are open, many of us would rather stay and dine safely at home. That includes our parties.
Last year, except for our eldest daughter, Shawna, all our birthdays have been celebrated safely at home. We didn’t have guests—just the immediate family in our home. For our Shane’s 7th birthday, only the three of us sang the birthday song for her. Sometimes, we cooked meals, other times, we order food.
I also personally miss events and dining out with friends or even just dating the hubby. But for my civic duty, I feel that it is my social responsibility to avoid gatherings or even meeting with friends. The threat of the pandemic is real and hitting closer to home.
During my mother-in-law’s birthday last February, we ordered Food-To-Go by Seda Capitol Central. It was a set meal from the Festive Menu that was good for five so we asked to customize it so that we could get 1.5 orders. They delivered and we were happy with the servings.
Food-to-Go by Seda Capitol Central come in nice reusable plastic containers. Honestly, we don’t transfer the food to serving plates anymore. I just arranged the table, put some decor, and and placed the food platters side by the side.
A Varied Menu for Different Tastes
The Food-to-Go by Seda Capitol Central has so many menu offerings that can cater to different tastes. There are dishes that you can have for regular family dinners or weekend lunches. Moreover, there are party trays that you can have at home for special occasions.
We were able to try five dishes, namely:
- Waldorf Salad
- Negrense-style porchetta with spicy sisig ride and their very own lechon sauce
- Lasagna
- Soft-crusted Norwegian Salmon with truffle mashed potato, carrots, beans, and beurre blanc sauce
- Tiramisu
These five dishes are frequently seen in Bacolod events in the past. They are usually present in buffet dinners and what a delight it was that they are offered in nice platter arrangements. Food-to-Go by Seda Capitol Central has really nailed it.
The porchetta had such crispy skin and it was perfect with the sisig rice. Special mention would be their lechon sauce—so good!
Meanwhile, their Norwegian salmon had always been a favorite of mine long before all these things happened around us. So happy that they still have it and it’s just so good with the truffle mashed potato and other vegetables. Our eldest daughter Shawna ate a lot of it!
The lasagna is supposed to be a sweeter version to cater to the Filipino taste, but I still feel that the taste is leaning towards the Italian palate. Still good, depending on your taste.
Love the salad and I think that the platter is super-duper worth it. As for the tiramisu, I hid some in the freezer for myself! Haha
