Lowest Power Rates Increase in Negros Occidental

Based on the latest billing data, Negros Power’s rate adjustment was considerably smaller than the ₱0.4807/kWh increase recorded by Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) and the ₱0.0863/kWh adjustment of NOCECO.

For households consuming 100 kWh per month, the October adjustment translates to an estimated additional ₱2.04 in electricity charges for Negros Power consumers. In comparison, households under NONECO would see an increase of approximately ₱48.07, while NOCECO consumers would face an additional ₱8.63, based on the respective rate adjustments.

The figures highlight the relatively modest movement in Negros Power’s electricity rate for the month, offering some relief to consumers amid continuing pressures on the power industry, including changes in generation costs and fuel prices.

As electricity remains a major household expense, keeping rate adjustments manageable is an important consideration for consumers and businesses alike. Negros Power’s minimal October increase stands in contrast to the sharper movements recorded elsewhere in the province.

While monthly electricity rates remain subject to changes in generation costs, transmission charges, and other power supply components, the October figures underscore the difference in rate adjustments among distribution utilities serving Negros Occidental.
