Filipino designer Francis Libiran rose to international acclaim because of his beautiful dresses that speak of his artistry and keen attention to detail. Most notably, he designed the winning evening gown of Miss World 2013 Megan Young when she won the coveted title.
And now, Havaianas is proud to announce that their first ever collaboration with a Filipino designer is with Mr. Libiran. So without further ado, I present to you the Francis Libiran for Havaianas collection–wearable pieces of art.
Libiran, who is designer to local and international celebrities like Anne Curtis and Tyra Banks, said, “Whenever I design something, when I conceptualize, I think of long-term details, not just a specific piece. When people see something I’ve designed, I want people to know that it is a Francis Libiran. When I want to develop a design, it evolves. It could be the color, the material used….It needs to have a signature. I tend to exhaust details to maximize a design’s full potential.”
Yesterday, Bacolod’s online media was invited to a three-hour launch and private selling event at the All Flip Flops store located at the North Wing of SM City Bacolod. And yeah, I am of the first to get my very own Festival pair. See below:
I love Havaianas and have been a wearer for about eight years now. I didn’t believe in it first because of the price, but when I got my first one, I was hooked. It was the only pair of footwear that got me through my two pregnancies. If I wore anything else, my soles would be very painful. I have finicky feet.
