For several months, traveling for leisure had been on a halt because of Covid-19. But even now that borders are opening, confidence in travel is still very low. Cebu Pacific is helping the government boost local tourism with its assurance of passenger safety.

The Three-step approach to Boost Confidence in Travel

In order to kickstart travel and tourism, CEB strictly follows three key steps: sanitation, tracing, and testing.

Sanitation & Safety

CEB has a 7-star COVID Safety Rating because they strictly implement the multi-layered approach to safety. This is in accordance with global aviation standards to ensure that guests travel with peace of mind.

They conduct a daily extensive disinfection of aircraft as well as frequent cleaning of passenger surfaces at the airport and inflight. Plus, these steps are coupled with the presence of hospital-grade High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters onboard. These are proven to eliminate 99.99% of viruses.

Moreover, CEB enhanced its self-service online channels that enable guests to easily manage their flights online. They also get to update pertinent information that may be required upon entry to a destination.

Contactless Flight procedures are also in place, such as boarding pass scanning, mandatory online check-in, and self-bag tagging capabilities.

Track & Trace

We need to know who goes through every door in order to effectively track and trace infection.

DOTr’s Traze App

CEB commends the DOTr for launching this single platform as the carrier believes this will result in a more efficient tracing initiative. They have been sending constant reminders to its employees and passengers to ensure everyJuan is informed of this requirement, which aims to make travel safe for all.

Testing

The Department of Transportation has recently launched a unified contact tracing app for the aviation industry and all other transport sectors. This requires people transiting through all airports in the Philippines to register in the app called “Traze.” They also have to scan QR codes at designated areas in the airports.

Affordable testing options

A number of local destinations currently require negative RT-PCR test results prior to entry. That is why CEB has made sure the journey remains affordable and hassle-free for everyJuan.

Passengers booked on Cebu Pacific and Cebgo can easily choose and book appointments with any of its three partner laboratories. This is via https://bit.ly/CEBFlightReminders for only PHP 3,300.

CEB has also recently piloted its Test Before Boarding (TBB) process for passengers flying direct from Manila to General Santos City.

This initiative is the first of its kind in the country, allowing passengers to conveniently have their antigen tests administered at the NAIA Terminal 3. The test will be done just hours before their estimated time of departure. Results are released within 30 minutes, and only those holding negative test results will be allowed to board the flight.

Using of Travel Funds

We encourage guests to use their Travel Funds to book new flights. If you don’t have travel funds, the safest option would still be Online payments. But of course, they still have payment center options.

For a list of travel requirements, testing options, flexibility options and frequently asked questions, passengers are encouraged to visit cebupacificair.com

But still, it’s still up to us to travel at this time. If it’s absolutely necessary, like for work or business, then air travel or sea travel are much safer now. However, I would personally advise to delay family holidays, especially if you have young children. Let’s stay safe!
