The holiday spirit takes on new enchantment as SM City Bacolod joins the region-wide theme of SM Supermalls in the Visayas, “Unwrapping Magical Christmas Tales.” With joy and delight, the mall proudly unveiled its own unique story: “Unwrapping Sweet Surprises,” during a dazzling launch event at the north wing’s Main Atrium last October 26, 2025, in Bacolod City.
Unwrapping Sweet Surprises at SM City Bacolod
Christmas came early as SM City Bacolod officially marked the beginning of the holiday season with a grand Christmas tree lighting ceremony led by Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson and mall manager Julia Javellana. The queens of Miss Universe Philippines-Negros Island, led by MUPH-Negros Occidental 2025 Maxine Louise Martin and MUPH-Bacolod 2025 Megan Larisse Baldevia, were also in attendance.
The 50-foot pastel Christmas tree, adorned with gold ribbons, glowing ornaments, and a gleaming star, stood as the evening’s centerpiece. Whimsical displays of giant cupcakes, macaron towers, and pastel-hued décor surround it.
Guests were treated to orchestra performances and enchanting ballet numbers before the highly anticipated tree lighting countdown, which illuminated the entire main atrium in a burst of color and light. The festive atmosphere was made even more delightful with the season’s first Santa Claus sighting, who wore a gold suit. He was accompanied by the Pastel Dream Ladies, who will be leading several family-friendly activities throughout the holidays.

Besties of Joy
Adding a heartwarming touch, SM Cares also introduced this year’s Besties of Joy: A Gift That Gives Twice. Each set features two cuddly bunny plushies – one for the buyer and one donated to a child in need. This is continuing SM’s long tradition of spreading love and kindness during Christmas.
From every angle, SM City Bacolod’s main atrium transforms into a pastel wonderland and a festive photo spot, inviting mallgoers to immerse themselves in a Christmas story filled with magic, sweetness, and cheer.
