Weego Bistro Bacolod
Weego Bistro Bacolod is a homegrown Bacolod restaurant where guests can appreciate Negros food and local lifestyle.
We are witnesses as how the art scene of Bacolod has made an interesting turn–a benefit to Bacolod artists and an encouragement to budding amateurs. The local scene has become vibrant, with more restaurants hiring artists to paint artworks on frames and murals on their interiors and walls.
Everywhere you go, you will Instagrammable walls along main thoroughfares of the city. Even malls have taken on the artsy vibe. And we love it! Who doesn’t like “legitimate” artworks lighting up our city inside of graffiti.
Weego Bistro at gohotels.ph Bacolod
Another restaurant that has taken the promotion of local art and artists under its wing is Weego Bistro — the newly opened Bacolod restaurant and art cafe at gohotels.ph Bacolod. It’s located on the ground floor of the hotel, serving not only their all-day breakfast menu to hotel guests but to walk in customers who just want to hang out.
Art Cafe
As an art cafe, Weego Bistro aims to be a venue for fun travelers who appreciate local food, street art, music, and good company. They are serving Negrense favorites such as kansi, batchoy, dinuguan, molo, KBL, and eventually grilled dishes. They want to be more than just the well-known Bacolod chicken inasal.
They also serve main meals like baby back ribs, lechon kawali, homestyle chicken, boneless bangus, and fish sticks. For snacks, they have flatbread pizzas in four flavors (All Cheese, Hawaiian, Wee’s Special, and Sardines), batchoy, and chicken sandwich. So far I have only tried their pizzas so I cannot comment on their other food, especially their Pinoy favorites. As for drinks, they have beers and coffees, featuring the Xacada bottled brews. For dessert, they have healthy sweets provided by JJC Nutritreats.
Guests will also be happy with their affordable breakfast menu that follows a theme: Go Pinoy, Go Fish, Go West, and Go Healthy.
Doodles by Bacolod Artist
Owner Terence Paul Dacles, who is also the owner of Tippy’s Bistro, said that he chose different local artists to design the cafe with doodle art. One young artist, Nemar Sencil of the Association of Negros Artists, painted the walls and ceilings of the restaurant with detailed illustrations in vibrant hues. The bistro has also allowed its walls to become a gallery for those who want to hold an art exhibit.
Weego Bistro also accepts catering for the gohotel function room.
Aside from the air conditioned area, Weego Bistro has an open air dining area for those who just want to chill and relax under the canopy of stars.
