Salomon Xtrail Run 2015 Bacolod Leg Winners

The Salomon Xtrail Run 2015 kicked off with the 1st Salomon Xtrail 101 last December 5 at The District North Point (Ayala). The aim of the event was to educate participants on trail running as well as to prepare them for the race. Experienced and awarded runner Jojo Bonnin was the guest speaker and he shared his knowledge and experience to the group.

As the Salomon Xtrail is a green running event, the 101 was also the venue for the DENR Forest and Wildlife Protection Information Campaign to spread awareness about the state of the Negros forests. Ms. Rose Pablico of the DENR, also a runner herself, gave an extensive talk on the subject.

Meanwhile, the Salomon Xtrail Run 2015 Bacolod Leg race was held last December 13, 2015 and it started at the Bantug Lake Ranch. The race commenced at exactly 6:00AM, with 230 participating runners for different distances. The first to take off are the 24k runners, followed by the 12k, and lastly the 6k participants. The race course started at Bantug and went all the way to Campuestuhan and back via Carmen for the 24k.

It was a very successful event as the 230 runners came from all over–Bacolod, Cebu, Manila, Iloilo, and even Tacloban, Toledo, Mabinay, and San Carlos City. Running ambassador, blogger, and Condura skyrunning champion Patrick Concepcion also was present and ran the 12k distance. The event ended at around 12:00 noon with all runners crossing the finish line.

To ensure the safety of the runners, medics and ambulances from the Chinese Chamber Volunteers were present all the way.

The Salomon XTrail Race is for the benefit of the Wildlife Enforcement Officers under DENR-PENRO Negros Occidental.
