Real property giant Megaworld really loves the City of Smiles. The company is going to give 1000 liters of disinfectant alcohol and 5000 face masks for Bacolod City in light of the covid-19 crisis. This is a big help for the city, as Negros Occidental is already facing a huge impediment in terms of lack of medical supplies. Thank you to our honorary Bacolod Mayor, Dr. Andrew L. Tan!
Megaworld Sends Help for Bacolod
As part of its ongoing efforts to support local government units to curb the spread of Covid-19, Megaworld has announced that they are donating 1,000 liters of alcohol for Bacolod City. The disinfectant alcohol will be allocated for use of healthcare and medical personnel in various hospitals and public health centers.
Morever, the Andrew Tan-led company will also donate 5,000 surgical face masks to the city government. This is Megaworld’s response to the reported shortage of face masks in the city.
“We would like to extend our help to the people of Bacolod during this challenging time. This is especially for our healthcare frontliners working in hospitals and local health centers,” says Kevin Andrew L. Tan, chief strategy officer, Megaworld.
Food Assistance
The help doesn’t stop there. Megaworld understands that their people need food as fuel to maintain their passion for service.
So aside from the alcohol and surgical face masks, the company will also provide food assistance to all of its construction workers. The food assistance will be given out to workers in its two townships in Bacolod City.
Workers in the The Upper East in Villamonte and the Northill Gateway, particularly the Forbes Hill project along Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road, will benefit.
The company will be distributing grocery packs to the almost 800 construction workers. These workers were affected by the work reduction scheme being implemented by their respective contractor companies due to covid-19.
