The passing of young singer-actor Cory Monteith of the Glee musical fame had made people sad all over the world. Viewers have been entertained and made happy or sad with the music and the poignant scenes on the show. It is highly entertaining and the actors are all so talented.
Monteith is one main characters of the show opposite real-life sweetheart Lea Michele.
When it was first reported that Monteith died, the police could not disclose any information about his death. Though they said that there seems to be no foul play, they could not pinpoint the exact cause of death without an autopsy.
And while many were saying that it was because of drug overdose, I couldn’t quite believe it because I have been reading about his voluntary submission to rehab and how his girlfriend Lea had been very supportive of him. Despite his drug addiction, Lea had stuck with him and supported him throughout his stint at rehab. A few days before Cory died, Lea even went on a weekend break and was really refreshed, only to be welcomed with this sad news.
Eventually, it was revealed that while Cory was sober after rehab while he was in the United States, he would party hard when he would go home to his native Canada. The autopsy report revealed that there was a deadly mixture of alcohol and heroin in his system.
Monteith died alone in his hotel room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Canada last Saturday, July 13. Rest in peace, Cory.
I am just so sad about celebrities passing like this. But it seems that despite reports in history about many celebs succumbing to drugs, ruining their lives and their families in the process, many are still getting into it. So sad….really sad.
