It is now revealed that in the Man of Steel sequel that is due to be release on July 17, 2015, Oscar-award winning actor, director, and producer Ben Affleck will play Batman, opposite Henry Cavill, who is Superman.

Now I am wondering, does Affleck have the angst to be Batman? Well, hubby (who is a comic and superhero fanatic) argues that Affleck did once play the role of Daredevil and that actually, only Batman is so-called “maangas” and not his alter-ego–the suave billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne.

So I guess, hubby agrees with the choice of director Zack Snyder. Warner Bros. president of production Greg Silverman said in statement that, “We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular super heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some. His outstanding career is a testament to his talent and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character.”

Snyder also added to that, saying, “Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”

Well, I guess Ben is the big name that will make Man of Steel’s performance more stellar in the box office. What do you think? Will he be effective as Batman? I have my reservations. But the internet is abuzz about this issue and many people are not too happy with the casting. They are also very vocal about it. What does Affleck say to this?
