MYOH 2016
My red top sole Havaianas with gold straps at the #MYOH2016. I love them!

There are many things to look forward to in the month of April. It’s one of the hottest months of the year, but it’s also the time when summer activities are in full swing. And this so true for our family because our days had been full ever since the month of April came. We haven’t had weekend rests for the last three weeks already! But it’s okay because we are all having fun as a family.

In Japan, April is the time when cherry blossoms are in full bloom. And this year, it’s the time for the biggest flip-flops customization event in the country, Make Your Own Havaianas! Also known as MYOH, it is one event where Havaianaticos can customize their own flip-flops and design their fancy by mixing and matching colorful soles, straps, and pins! Yes, you only get to do this during the event days.

Customers can mix and match designs on this wheel before to help them choose what they like. This is very helpful because once the flipflops are holed, you can no longer change them.

So excited! This guy is now assembling my MYOH 2016 pair!

Now on its 11th year, MYOH goes back to its Japanese roots with an experience that will take avid Havaianaticos to the land of the rising sun. In Western Visayas and Negros Island Resgion, catch the MYOH 2016 fever from April 22 to 24 at All Flip Flops SM City Bacolod and All Flip Flops SM City Iloilo.

It’s no secret that Havaianas was born in Brazil in 1962. But unbeknownst to many, the very first flip-flop was inspired by the Zori, a type of Japanese sandal made of fabric straps and rice straw roles. So the Havaianas flip-flops as we know them today still show marks of these iconic rice patterns. Havaianas is truly the child of the marriage of eastern Zen and western joy!

Here’s a look at this year’s Shibori-inspired limited edition commemorative pair available in top and slim soles. Shibori is a Japanese-inspired fabric-dyeing technique. The design goes perfectly with a selection of kawaii pins – zori, empress, ramen, and more!
