Review: Human Nature Strengthening Shampoo and Body Wash

I like things organic… especially after I learned that I was pregnant with my eldest daughter then. I shifted to using organic toiletries to minimize her exposure to harmful chemicals around us. Today, I am going to talk about the Human Nature Strengthening Shampoo and Body Wash.

As a Shampoo
I especially like the aloe vera, pearl powder, and peppermint kind. On our first use, my husband and I had to consume a lot of shampoo. It seemed that it wouldn’t lather. That is because it has none of the harmful chemical that causes shampoo to bubble so much.

But on our third day of use, we did not need too much shampoo. Just a squirt and the lather is enough to wash our hair. I believe that is because the shampoo had to rid our hair of the impurities or the build up caused by conventional shampoos. Cool. And I also noticed significant hair growth on my scalp after a month of using the shampoo.

After one month, however, I developed dandruff. I never suffered from dandruff before. I guess it is because this organic shampoo does not have rich conditioners and after all the residue on my head has been removed, my hair and scalp are all squeaky clean. That resulted to dryness and thus, the flakes.

So I have decided that I will make Human Nature Strengthening Shampoo a part of our bath routine. However, I will use it only like twice a week, otherwise I will keep on scratching my itchy head whenever and wherever. And that is not very becoming. haha But it is a great product that I would recommend.

As a Body Wash
Now, I will talk about its function as a body wash, or at least to me.

Occasionally, I would get skin allergies. It is either because of a food allergy or because something harsh has touched my skin, but mostly, the reason is heat, humidity, and most especially, exposure to sunlight. Somehow, I get itchy red rashes on my arms, elbows, back of elbows, back of hands, and neck. They can be itchy as well as unsightly.

On its early stage, the rashes would look like little red bumps that are scattered in an area. They are very itchy. Then after several days, the rashes get dense. They fill up the area that they first occupied and then the neighboring patches of skin. Sometimes I would use a skin cream or ointment, but when I run out of it, I kinda just endure the itch and unsightly view. After all, eventually, they will just fade away if I stay indoors. The ointments and creams are just too expensive for a very small tube.

Anyway, after using the Human Nature Strengthening Shampoo and Body Wash for awhile as a shampoo, I thought of using it on my body as well. I like it because just a little amount covers my whole body with the use of a sponge or loofah. Its peppermint essential oil is cooling to the skin. So I thought, why not use it on my allergies, for the calming effect on the inflamed skin. I also thought that the coolness of the peppermint would soothe the itchiness.

So I applied some drops of the body wash on the affected area and added a little water. I would rub it for several seconds before rinsing. After the first use, I noticed a difference–my allergy patches are no longer that itchy. I used the product the same way for several more days, twice a day. And my skin allergies disappeared!

I really love this product. And it is reasonably priced, too. Two thumbs up!
