Lord Byron’s back ribs started out as a small home-based eatery in Homesite owned by LB Diola (hence, they coined the name Lord Byron’s though LB doesn’t stand for anything). But because they are affordable and the ribs are really good, tender, juicy, tasty, and yes, saucy, they became a hot item that eventually, you need to reserve your seat before going there, otherwise, you will end up with no seat or no ribs at all.

That is because they serve their ribs fresh daily. As in they replenish their inventory daily because they don’t want to cook frozen pork. Such quality control was maintained even when they moved to a bigger and more accessible location at Magsaysay Avenue, Bacolod, behind Luxur Hotel, about five years ago.

But now, they are not only serving their famous baby back ribs but also other all-time Pinoy favorites like kansi soup, sizzling boneless bangus, pure beef burger, spareribs in wine sauce, and sizzling pork sisig, all served with their signature flavored yellow rice.

In terms of the place, don’t expect much from Lord Byron’s. They have the same rustic presentation as they did before–a big native cottage with wooden tables as well as some huts that groups can occupy for a little more privacy. The floor has crushed rocks, so it is best to leave your stilettos home when dining here. There is no air conditioning, obviously. But many people come here because of the food and the laid back ambiance.

Lord Byron's spareribs
Lord Byron’s new product–spareribs in wine sauce. P179. This actually comes with a thin, almost clear wine sauce but I had to take it out for photography purposes. This is really good. Mildly flavored, tender, juicy. But I would prefer this with white rice so that you can appreciate the flavor better. Really good development.

What makes Lord Byron’s back ribs different is that they aim to serve the freshest ribs possible, ordered from their supplier on the same day. That is probably the reason why you can really taste the freshness factor with each bite. And yes, their meals are so heavy yet light on the pocket.

Lord Byron’s Backribs has a branch in Dumaguete, but they are yet to find another spot for their second branch here in Bacolod. That is why DON’T MISTAKE OTHER RIBS WITH LORD BYRON’S. Their only branch is at Magsaysay Avenue only. Visit them and satisfy that back ribs craving! 😀
