The 9th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival has opened today and it was well-attended by representatives of the government and the private sector headed by Agriculture Undersecretary Berna Romulo-Puyat, Pasig City congressman Roman Romulo and his lovely wife, Valenzuela City councilor Shalani Soledad-Romulo.

It was a happy event, blessed with good weather, and people enjoyed the activities lined up for the day. But most especially, visitors were impressed at the variety of organic products on display and up for sale. From fruits, to vegetables, to grains, and even seafood–you can’t get it any fresher than here because these all came from the source. There are also saplings of your favorite plants and trees as well as organic fertilizer. There are also novelty items. And if you get hungry, choose from among the many local brands that have food stalls in the area, serving snacks and meals.
