Salomon trail runner — Seasoned Salomon athlete Aldean Lim talks about the boons and banes of trail running.

Trail fanatics and running enthusiasts of Bacolod are surely going to enjoy the the much-awaited trail running event of the season– the Salomon X-Trail Run 2016 that will be held in Talisay City, Negros Occidental on November 27

Now on its 3rd year, the Salomon X-Trail Pilipinas Bacolod leg is going to have the same brand of technical trail racing that Salomon is known for. The “X-Trail includes a mix of different terrain and river crossings, downhill and uphill treks, forest canopy covers, grassland hikes, as well as a spectacular view of both Negros and Panay Islands.

Starting line is at 720 meters and it goes down to a low of 520 meters, with the highest point being 960 meters. Since this event is organized by the Negros Mountaineering Club, the race will pass through their tree planting site in Talisay.

Salomon Running — When you visit a Salomon store, you get to sample treading different kinds of terrain.

With two distances to complete–the 17km and the 12.5km.–the Salomon X-Trail Run 2016 is the only trail race in the Western Visayas region that offers an authentic trail run experience for its runners. You can surely expect technical challenges along the route but the experience is surely worth the effort. This year, while the organizers were expecting only 200 runners, registration has already reached 300 and they had to close it to make sure that everything will go smoothly. Registration for the 17km is P1,000 while the 12.5km is P800. Truly, so many people want to join this exciting event. Meanwhile, those registered participants are entitled to a 20% discount on regular priced Salomon items prior to the event.

The assembly time is 5:00AM at Kampo Hiyang-hiyang, Campuestohan, Talisay. Gun start will be at 6:30am for 17km and 6:45am for 12.5km.

Winners will receive cash prizes while some Salomon Running shoes will also be raffled off.

In preparation for the run, Salomon invited their athlete, Skyrunner and Trail Runner Aldean Lim, to talk about the ins and outs of trail running. He offered tips and advice to those who will join the X-Trail Run on November 27. A lawyer by profession, Lim has traveled the globe in search for the best trails to run just for the love of the sport.
