Merzci, the brand and the company, is ever growing. Last Friday, March 4, 2015, they opened their 45th branch in Western Visayas and the second one in the municipality of Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Merzci Murcia Branch 2 is located along Gatuslao Street, strategically near the public market and the plaza in a commercial property that is now owned by the company. But they shall continue serving the residents of Murcia in their smaller, leased space in front of the plaza.
The yellow two-story building shines bright in the morning sun as local residents partied with the drum beaters and joined in the games during the opening day. The most exciting part of the program was the siopao-eating contest, which is always a hit whenever it is being held. Participants downed many regular-sized siopaos in a bid to become the winner. It was fun, with many contenders vying for the title of fastest siopao eater.
The opening of Merzci Murcia was graced by CM & Sons President and CEO Jonathan Manuel T. Lo and Murcia Vice Mayor Jerry Rojas, who both cut the ceremonial ribbon to mark the formal opening of the branch. Vice Mayor Rojas said that the new Merzci is so timely and good business because of the highway shortcut that passes through Murcia from the North and from the South of Negros Occidental. He thanked Mr. Lo for investing in the town and asked to hired mainly Murcia residents for their staff so as to help the livelihood of the locals. Rev. Dave King of Trinity Christian Fellowship was also there for the dedication and for the prayer of blessing upon the new venture.
