Hainanese Chicken Rice–perhaps the most famous Singaporean dish.

This weekend, Sept. 19-20, 2015, Bacolodnons are in for a special treat as L’Fisher Hotel presents their international lunch and dinner buffet, this time featuring the Singaporean Food Festival as part of their 25th year anniversary. The two-day food fest will be undertaken in partnership with Singaporean executive chef HK Tan of the NasiLemak Galleria and Singapore Food Republic fame. “We are excited to bring a taste of Singapore to Bacolod,” said Chef HK.

Bloggers had a sampling of the Singaporean Food Festival that will happen this weekend, Sept 19-20, at the Ripples Restaurant of L’Fisher Hotel.
Beef rendang, an Indonesian dish that is very popular in Singapore.
Kangkong Sambal Blachan — you would never think that kangkong can taste this good.

It will feature dishes that we love like the Hainanese Chicken Rice, char kweh tiau, satay, beef rendang, spicy chicken curry, nonya laksa, among many others. It will be available on these dates:

Sigrid Says on Singaporean Food
I have stayed in Singapore for three months and enjoyed eating in different restaurants and hawker stores. But nobody really educated me, except for the names, on how to best appreciate Singaporean cuisine. Yesterday, Chef HK Tan taught us how to best eat Hainanese Chicken Rice and to appreciate its flavors. And true enough, it tasted a whole lot different. This weekend, guests will be treated to Chef HK’s hospitality and generosity in sharing his knowledge about his country’s cuisine. He will be going around the dining guests to teach them how to appreciate Singaporean food as well as share tales about his gastronomic adventures. It will truly be a wonderful dining experience this weekend.

And oh, Happy 25th Birthday. L’Fisher Hotel, from SigridSays.com.

Bloggers with Chef HK Tan–what an enlightening lunch we had.
